THE Guyana Olympic Association (GOA) has announced the selection of archery athlete Ravish Singh, track and field athlete Tesianna Harris and athletics chaperone Crystal Persaud to represent Guyana at the 2026 Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Youth Camp.

Supported by Olympic Solidarity, the prestigious regional youth-development initiative will be hosted from August 23 to 28 at the Tropical Pleasure Resort in Plymouth, Tobago.

Recognised as one of the Caribbean’s premier youth-development programmes for over two decades, the week-long camp aims to inspire and empower young people through sport, while promoting the core Olympic values of excellence, respect, and friendship.

It will bring together participants from National Olympic Committees across the region, fostering collaboration and helping to mould the next generation of sporting ambassadors.

During the camp, Singh and Harris will have the opportunity to engage in leadership development, Olympic education, cultural exchange, and team-building exercises.

According to the GOA, the youth participants were selected on the basis of their demonstrated commitment to sport, leadership potential, teamwork, and willingness to exemplify Olympic values both on and off the field.

Persaud, fulfilling the vital role of chaperone, was chosen for her capacity as a responsible, enthusiastic, and open-minded role model committed to the well-being and development of young athletes.

GOA President Godfrey Munroe and the executive committee congratulated the trio on their selection, highlighting the broader significance of the regional initiative.

“The Olympic Youth Camp is much more than a sporting programme. It is an investment in developing future leaders for sport and society,” Munroe stated.

“We are delighted that Ravish, Tesianna, and Crystal will have this opportunity to learn, grow, and build friendships with young people from across the Caribbean, while proudly representing Guyana and the Olympic values.”

The association also extended its gratitude to Olympic Solidarity and the Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee for their sustained commitment to youth development and regional co-operation through the Olympic Movement, while wishing the Guyanese contingent every success as they prepare for the Tobago expedition.
