A 47-year-old vendor is in police custody after ranks allegedly recovered 30 grams of suspected cannabis during an intelligence-led operation at Castello Housing Scheme, Georgetown.
Police said the operation was conducted at about 15:45 hrs on Friday, July 17.
According to a police release, ranks observed the suspect throwing a bulky black plastic bag over a fence as they approached the property.
The bag was retrieved and searched in the suspect’s presence, during which a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis was found.
The suspect and the suspected narcotics were taken to the East La Penitence Police Station, where the substance was weighed in his presence and amounted to 30 grams before being lodged.
The suspect remains in police custody as investigations continue.
