THE Guyana National Newspapers Limited, publishers of the Guyana Chronicle Daily and Sunday Newspapers, on Thursday launched its National Grade Five Assessment worksheet, which will be published every Tuesday from the start of the new school year in September.

The National Newspapers’ Marketing Manager, Beverly Roberts at the opening of the International Building Expo, said that they had received several requests for Grade Five material.

The company produces Grade Six worksheets, which were introduced in schools across the country.

According to her, the schools were very receptive, and teachers began to request that other materials be published.

After experimenting with the Grade Four publication, which was a success, she said there was a resounding demand for worksheets for Grade Five pupils. The publishers worked with a team of trained teachers, who would formulate appropriate questions.

“We are now launching our Grade Five worksheet newspaper for schools beginning in September,” Roberts said adding, “Every Tuesday. The cost is $60. We tried to make this paper as affordable as possible for schools…at $60, we believe that every child would be able to have one of these papers in their hand. That they can practice and they can work. And we can contribute to their overall success at the end of the period.”
