According to reports, Singh was allegedly lured to a property at Middle Road, La Penitence, Georgetown, under the pretext of a gold transaction. After relatives reported him missing, police launched an investigation that led to Sukhdeo’s arrest.

Investigators subsequently discovered Singh’s body wrapped in a blood-stained sheet at the property. A post-mortem examination found that he died from multiple injuries, including blunt force trauma to the head, face and neck, along with multiple fractures.

Investigators recovered a large sum of cash believed to have belonged to Singh, as well as a piece of wood suspected to have been used in the killing. Sukhdeo has maintained his innocence and will now have his fate determined by a 12-member jury.
