ON Sunday the Guyana Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation held their annual Linden Classic bodybuilding showcase with Shakeel Bobb taking the title at LISHAS hall.
Bobb also earned the overall Men’s Classic and Men’s Classic Physique lightweight class.
Bobb, who earlier this year took the national Novice title had earlier claimed the bodybuilding bantamweight category in the Linden Classic.
The masters over 40 bodybuilding title went to Roman Da Silva.
DaSilva was, however, not good enough to win the middleweight division, losing to Steve Sajar.
The light weight physique category saw Jermaine Samuel going down to the superior physique of Ryan Achiya.
The men’s fitness category was won by Emmanuel Forde.
Record-breaking national powerlifter Vijai Rahim journeyed over to bodybuilding to take the lightweight bodybuilding class.
The men’s classic physique middleweight was won by Akini Mars; he also picked up the men’s physique win over Sajar and Ford.
Chandranie Jaikaran was the clear winner in the women’s bikini category, beating Akheela Koulen.
The women’s fit model suit was won by Emmanuel Forde, with Koulen winning the women’s fit model evening gown.
The kid’s fitness was won by Amariah Siland.
President of the GBBFF speaking after the event said that “We have Essequibo the Berbice and then the Mr. Guyana. Basically, we are trying to bring more awareness to bodybuilding trying to bring a new pool of athletes. We have found 11 new talents in different regions.”
