EMPHASISING the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) government’s commitment to remaining connected to citizens and delivering development across every region of Guyana, Member of Parliament Zamal Hussain has reaffirmed that no community is being left behind under the administration of President Dr Irfaan Ali.
Hussain, along with other members of parliament and advisers to government, joined President Ali’s two-day cabinet outreach to Region Seven, on Sunday and Monday where they fanned out in different communities meeting citizens.
Addressing residents in Wineperu Village during an outreach activity on Sunday, Hussain highlighted the government’s people-centred approach, noting that continuous engagement with communities allows the government to better understand and respond to the needs of citizens on the ground.
“His Excellency President Irfaan Ali has always said that the facilities that we have on the coastline must also be available in the interior locations, and this is something that this People’s Progressive Party/Civic government continues to work towards,” Hussain said.
He explained that the government remains focused on ensuring that residents in hinterland and riverine communities enjoy the same opportunities, services and standard of development as those living on the coastland.
According to Hussain, since assuming office in 2020, President Ali has worked tirelessly to ensure development reaches every corner of the country through regular community engagements, infrastructure projects and investments in public services.
“No community is being left behind. He wants to ensure that the people of this country are always getting a better standard of living,” Hussain said, noting that the President and his administration continue to maintain a strong presence among citizens and remain attentive to their concerns.
The parliamentarian also encouraged residents to work alongside the government in advancing their communities, while acknowledging that some challenges require time and sustained effort to resolve.
“We have to work together to ensure that we build our families, ourselves and our communities,” Hussain said, stressing that the government’s developmental agenda is rooted in partnership with citizens and a shared vision for national progress.
He added that while not every issue can be addressed overnight, the PPP/C government has demonstrated its commitment to tackling challenges directly and delivering tangible improvements to the lives of Guyanese.
Meanwhile, on Monday at St Mary’s Quarry, Hussain took the opportunity, during an engagement with residents, to remind them that the PPP/C government remains successful because of their connection with the people on the ground.
“Since assuming office in 2020, this government has been reaching out and listening to the concerns of residents in the communities, then we go back to the drawing board and see the issues, some of them we fix immediately, some of them are fixed over time, and this is why this government was successful at the last elections because we continue to reach out to the residents of Guyana.”
He added, that the country is extremely lucky to have a President who always has the interest of the people at heart in every decision that he makes. “I have worked with him and I can tell you he is somebody who will reach out and ensure that if you have problems in the community he will fix them immediately and sometimes go beyond the problems.”
