DAVID Hinds has been circulating things people say against the government, once they are shaped in a racial way. This man has a one-track mind and, of course, lives in a parallel universe. So, he circulates racially charged things that Henry Jeffrey and Adam Harris prattle about.
When I saw what Harris wrote, I was over-zealous in wanting to reply because it is morally compelling on the part of all public intellectuals to confront poisonous diatribes because in doing so, we fulfill our obligation to enlighten our fellow Guyanese.
I quote Harris, “How else can one explain why people support their oppressors? The government knew this, so it made the people so poor that any sum of money would seem like a fortune to the struggling masses… A common view is that people can effect the change at the ballot box. That works in a homogeneous society. Guyana has two large racial groups.
The major political parties have laid claim to these groups to the extent that there is always racial voting. These days, rather than vote for one group or the other people stay at home.”
This emanation by Harris should see a reply from every Guyanese who have some training in sociology and political theory because the ignorance is abysmal, ugly and fetid. In exposing these nasty propagandistic thoughts of people like Harris and Hinds, a nation is educated.
Let’s expose people like Harris. First, the electorate in this country voted against their oppressors on September 1, 2025. The AFC was guillotined. It didn’t get even a seat. The PNC was devastated. It was reduced from 31 seats to 12, lost all the regional governments it had before 2025 and lost the position of Leader of the Opposition.
The AFC and PNC oppressed this country from 2015 to 2020. In September 2025, the Guyanese people voted against their oppressors. Secondly, it is diseased ignorance to state that people only change government in elections when the country has a homogeneous population. Trinidad, Suriname, Guyana and the United States are not homogeneous and they change government through elections.
Thirdly, racial voting died in the 2025 election. I met with President Ali briefly over the Christmas holiday and I told him that I had examined the GECOM database on the election results three times. Those results consist of pyrotechnical statistics. I told President Ali that when he examines the GECOM election outlay, he should be proud of himself. He got cross-racial voting that no previous president ever came close to securing.
Fourthly, Harris had the PPP government in mind when he wrote the following words, “The government made the people so poor that any sum of money would seem like a fortune to the struggling masses.” But mental cobwebs have taken over the psychology of Harris. Freud was at work in Harris’ mind when he uttered those words. He means Azruddin Mohamed and WIN.
It is the leader, Aubrey Norton of the party, the PNC, that Harris supports, who pointed to Mohamed spending money to get votes. The official line of the PNC after Mohamed stole 16 seats from them and that line holds steady today, is that Mohamed threw away money to get votes. The consensus among political pundits in Guyana is that WIN bought votes.
So, whose votes WIN bought? Here is a subject that Hinds, Harris and their acolytes never touch. Where did WIN get its 16 seats from? Remember Harris words, which I hereby reproduce, “A common view is that people can effect the change at the ballot box. That works in a homogenic society.” WIN’s 16 seats and where they came from show the gargantuan ignorance of Adam Harris.
The GECOM database showed where WIN acquired its 16 seats. Before we go further, it needs to be noted that WIN was started by an Indian, Muslim man without any previous activism whatsoever in African parts of Guyana. His sister and her Caucasian husband ran the election campaign.
We don’t have to identify where WIN got its seats from. What needs to be said is that WIN did not acquire 16 seats at the expense of the PPP’s constituencies. Here is a factoid for readers – Irfan Ali secured a landslide in his hometown of Leonara. The Opposition Leader, Norton, lost votes to WIN in his hometown of Plaisance.
I stress again; this analysis here is a requirement from all Guyanese because it helps to prevent any mind, even if it is just one person, that may be susceptible to the propagandistic degeneracy of the mindset consisting of David Hinds, Adam Harris and their acolytes.
