THE Khalil siblings joined forces to win their match in the mixed senior doubles when Night Two of the Guyana Squash Association (GSA) Guyana’s 60th Independence Anniversary Tournament continued on Friday at the National Racquet Centre on Woolford Avenue.
On another rainy night, in which five doubles matches were played, Jason Ray Khalil and his sister Ashly produced some excellent Squash to beat Alex Arjoon and Mary Fung-A-Fat in their Mixed Doubles Seniors match.
The 2019 and 2022 National Men’s and Women’s Champions had teamed up in last year’s One Guyana President’s Cup Squash tournament on the newly constructed International Doubles Court to defeat Louis Da Silva and Avery Gomes.
In the 2025 final, the siblings beat Sunny Seth and Kirsten Gomes to claim the title.
Last Friday, at the same venue, it was no different as they disposed of Arjoon and Fung-a-fat, 11-4, 11-7, to advance to the stage of the tournament
The 33-year-old 2022 Caribbean Squash Champion was not done yet. She teamed up with Fung-fat to beat Kirsten Gomes and Abosaide Cadogan and win the Women’s Doubles Elite.
The first game saw Gomes and Cadogan putting up a fight to eventually lose 8-11, before they managed a single point in the next game, going down 1-11.
The tournament will conclude today with the finals and presentation.
