–as President Abinader arrives for two-day visit
PRIME Minister, Brigadier (Ret’d) Mark Phillips welcomed the President of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader Corona, upon his arrival in Guyana at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, on Wednesday evening.
During his two‑day visit, President Abinader is expected to engage in bilateral discussions with President, Dr. Irfaan Ali and members of the government.
The overall aim is to strengthen relations and expand cooperation between Guyana and the Dominican Republic, according to information from the Office of the Prime Minister.
Prime Minister Phillips was joined by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hugh Todd, and Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to Guyana, Ernesto Torres Pereyra.
