The event, held on April 23, 2026, featured an extensive display of both traditional and contemporary dishes, reflecting the trainees’ practical skills, creativity, and readiness to enter the food industry. Attendees were treated to a wide variety of items, ranging from locally inspired processed products to pastries, baked goods, and savoury meals.

The exhibition also featured an assortment of pastries and baked items, including Cheese Rolls, Pine Tarts, Brownies, Salara, Cakes, Cheese Straws, Chocolate Chip Cookies, Coconut Buns, Cheesecake, Oreo Cheesecake, Croissants, and Gulab Jamun.

In addition to baked goods, the trainees showcased their versatility with savoury dishes such as Fried Rice, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Spanish Rice, and Chicken Sausage Pizza, demonstrating a balance of local flavours and international influences.

The programme was supported by Ms Sherryann Puran and administrators of the Life Hope Centre, while training was facilitated by Ms Bibi Dennis and Ms Rovena Harrinauth, who guided participants through both theoretical and hands-on components of the course.

Also in attendance were Senior Procurement Officer, Mr Kendy Cummings; Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, Ms Marcel Watson and Technical Officer, Ms Queenola Legall, who observed the trainees’ progress and engaged with participants during the exhibition.

BIT officials used the occasion to reaffirm their commitment to equipping individuals with practical, marketable skills, noting that initiatives such as the Commercial Food Preparation programme play a key role in fostering personal development, strengthening communities, and supporting national growth.
