THE Mocha/Perseverance Day/Night Care and Early Childhood Development Centre on the East Bank of Demerara is on the cusp of welcoming its first young learners, following a thorough final inspection conducted by senior officials of the Ministry of Human Services and Social Security.
Subject minister, Dr. Vindhya Persaud, led the inspection team, which included Permanent Secretary, Dr. Erica Forte; Director of the Childcare and Protection Agency (CPA), Levine Gouveia; and Chief Executive Director of Early Childhood Development, Concheeta Gray, accompanied by the ministry’s engineers.
The comprehensive walkthrough was carried out to ensure that the facility meets all required standards ahead of its official opening.

The new centre is expected to serve as a vital resource for families in the East Bank of Demerara, providing both daytime and nighttime childcare services alongside early childhood development programmes.
Its establishment reflects the government’s continued commitment to expanding quality care and educational opportunities for Guyana’s youngest citizens.
With the final inspection now completed, the Mocha/Perseverance centre stands ready to open its doors and begin shaping the early years of children in the community.
