Massy Distribution U-18 schools’ football enters third round
THE Massy U-18 schools’ football tournament heats up this weekend at Queen’s College as round three gets underway with eight battles.
Anna Regina Secondary will first suit up against Patentia Secondary in the first encounter for the day followed by Yarakabra Secondary meeting Hope Secondary and East Ruimveldt playing President’s College.
Other match-ups will see Lodge playing Vryman’s Erven and Brickdam meeting Saints Stanislaus College.
The remaining battles feature Dolphin Secondary taking on new Campbellville Secondary, Good Hope also tackling Charlestown Secondary and Zeeburg Secondary contesting the final match-up with West Ruimveldt Secondary.
Meanwhile, the latest round of matches on Thursday saw some massive wins for the top contenders in this year’s competition.
Defending champions Chase’s Academic Foundation, playing the penultimate clash on the day, took an awesome 9-nil win over Westminster Secondary.
Chase was led by Mark Glasgow with a hat trick, with Nyron Barrow also recording a double.
St Joseph High was the day’s biggest winner with a 15-nil thrashing of The Bishops’ High School.
Joel Stephen was fabulous in front of goal, scoring a fiver with Akel Sahadeo, and Laurel George scoring hat-tricks.
Also in the winner’s circle in round 2 was Annandale Secondary, who took a 3-1 victory over Carmel Secondary with goals off the boots of Zephan Henry, Malachi Jervis and Devon Williams.

New Central High took a 2-nil win over Vryman’s Erven Secondary.
Three Miles Secondary then beat Mackenzie High 5-2.
Jaydon Bourne then scored a blinder to guide Patentia Secondary to a 1-nil win over President’s College while Santa Rosa closed off the day with a superb 7-nil win over West Demerara Secondary.
Lodge Secondary drew Charity Secondary 2-2, while Dolphin Secondary and Belladrum Secondary’s clash ended with the same result in a 3-3.
