THE Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), with the support of the Ministry of External Affairs of India and the High Commission of India in Guyana, inaugurated four specialised training programmes for the Guyana Police Force in the presence of Minister of Home Affairs, Oneidge Walrond, on Tuesday.
According to information from Minister Walrond’s official Facebook page, the programmes include training in Fingerprint Science and Questioned Documents; a five-day programme on SMART and Predictive Policing; a programme on Preventing Human Trafficking: Issues, Challenges, and Preventive Measures and a one-week programme on Artificial Intelligence for Investigation.
These programmes, mark an important step forward in India-Guyana co-operation and are aligned with the MoU signed between Rashtriya Raksha University and the National Defence Institute during the state visit of Shri Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, to Guyana on November 20, 2024, in the presence of President, Dr Irfaan Ali.
Team RRU expressed sincere gratitude to High Commissioner of India to Guyana, Dr Amit Telang; Colonel Sheldon Howell, Director of NISA, Republic of Guyana; and Dr K. M. Praphullachandra Sharma, Joint Secretary, South America Division, MEA for their esteemed presence at the inaugural ceremony
