MINISTER within the Ministry of Public Works, Madanlall Ricky Ramraj, on Saturday fulfilled a promise to the residents of Tennesse Farm by distributing 50 black tanks to families in the community.
The initiative forms part of a broader commitment by Prime Minister, Brigadier (Ret’d) Mark Phillips, to enhance the quality of life for citizens and strengthen regional resilience.
At a simple handing-over ceremony attended by Regional Vice Chairman Humace Oodit and Mayor Devin Mohan, Minister Ramraj highlighted the Government’s dedication to addressing community needs.
“This is about improving your daily lives. Access to safe water storage is a basic need, and, as a Government, we will continue to work with you to bring more solutions to your communities,” Minister Ramraj stated.
Residents expressed appreciation for the support, noting that the tanks would significantly ease challenges related to water storage, especially during dry periods. One resident described the initiative as “timely and much-needed,” while another said it demonstrated that the Government is serious about the welfare of its people.
Minister Ramraj was joined by the Regional Vice Chairman, Mayor, Community Development Officer, and Regional Agriculture Coordinator, underscoring the Government’s collaborative approach to delivering tangible benefits across Guyana.
