At this stage of the 2025 electoral process, it is abundantly clear that Hadiyyah Mohamed and We Invest In Nationhood (WIN) have chosen a path of deliberate misinformation, a reckless campaign aimed at stoking fear, sowing mischief, and inciting public disorder.
Their objective is to undermine confidence in the elections, despite the fact that the polls have been conducted in a peaceful, transparent, and credible manner.
Throughout today’s recount process, Mohamed and her cohorts peddled distortions and outright falsehoods. Their latest fabrication that the baseless claim that ballot boxes were tampered with is being irresponsibly circulated on social media, accompanied by a video that deliberately breaches the procedures outlined for by the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) for the conduct of the recount.
Guyana’s democracy draws strength from the integrity of this process, and the recount reinforces its credibility.
Yet, when individuals already discredited and sanctioned by the United States for gold smuggling, tax evasion, and other serious crimes attempt to smear it, their intent becomes transparent.
Their actions are propelled by a hustler’s mentality that is shaped by mistrust as a result of their own long history of illegality and self-interest.
