–Prime Minister urges Guyanese to rally behind the PPP/C for continued development
Prime Minister, Brigadier (Ret’d) Mark Phillips addressed a mammoth crowd of supporters at the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) rally in Lusignan, Region four, where he reaffirmed the party’s commitment to national development and called for continued support at the polls on Monday.
Reaffirming the party’s commitment to steering Guyana’s rapid transformation, on Saturday, the Prime Minister urged citizens not to gamble with their futures, but to consolidate gains by voting for a government with a proven track record of delivering “development for all the people of Guyana.”
Phillips reminded the gathering that the PPP/C has always stood as a national movement, rooted in the principles of inclusivity and unity across all ethnic groups.
“This is the truly national party of Guyana. This is the party of our Indo-Guyanese, this is the party of the Afro-Guyanese, Amerindian-Guyanese, Chinese-Guyanese, the Portuguese-Guyanese, the mixed Guyanese,” he declared, drawing loud applause.
