TAROUBA, Trinidad, CMC – The Leeward Islands Thunder pair of Kofi James and Micah McKenzie emerged as the top batsman and bowler, respectively, in the inaugural West Indies Breakout League, which concluded over the weekend.
The Thunder were defeated by the Trinidad and Tobago Legions by 17 runs on Saturday in a pulsating final at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy, with both players leaving their mark on the contest.
Kofi James scored the most runs in the West Indies Breakout League.

Leg spinner McKenzie took two wickets for 29 runs from his four overs, to carry his total to 12 wickets, breaking a four-way tie to emerge as the bowler with the most wickets.
He finished just ahead of Jediah Blades of the Guyana Rainforest Rangers, Navin Bidaisee of the Legions and his teammate Anderson Mahase, who all finished with 10 wickets.
Meanwhile, James slammed an impressive 63 from 36 balls in a losing cause, to finish with 240 runs, the most of any batter in the tournament.

The Rangers’ Kevlon Anderson was second best with 227 runs, while Johann Jeremiah of the Windward Islands Infernos scored 203 runs.
James also had the pleasure of blasting the most maximums in the competition with 16 sixes, while Jeremiah hit 11 and Shaqkere Parris of the Barbados Pelicans cleared the boundary 10 times.
