MINISTER of Public Works, Bishop Juan Edghill, is currently representing Guyana at the Transforming Transportation 2025 conference, hosted by the World Bank in Washington, DC. The high-level event brings together global leaders to discuss advancements in sustainable mobility and climate-resilient infrastructure.
On March 10, Minister Edghill participated in the Ministerial Roundtable on Sustainable Transport, where he engaged with international stakeholders on strategies to enhance sustainable mobility. His participation underscores Guyana’s commitment to fostering environmentally friendly and efficient transport systems as the country continues its rapid economic growth.
Throughout the conference, Minister Edghill is expected to highlight Guyana’s progress in transport infrastructure, emphasising climate resilience strategies and sustainable road network expansion. The discussions will also focus on the electrification of public transport in Latin America and the Caribbean, aligning with regional and global efforts to reduce carbon emissions and enhance sustainability.
