THE police in Regional Division #10 recently conducted a successful “eradication exercise” between Wiruni and St. Lust in the Berbice River, during which a cannabis farm was found and destroyed.
According to the Guyana Police Force, the farm was approximately three acres in size, with plants ranging from four feet to six feet.
A total of 12,500 plants with an average weight of 27,500 kilogrammes and with a street value of $3,875,531 were found and destroyed.
There was also a nursery with about 25,200 plants and about 140 pounds of dried cannabis.
Two makeshift camps equipped with four hammocks, kitchen utensils and a quantity of groceries were set on fire and destroyed, along with the cannabis plants.
