Regal Stationery and Computer Centre joins sponsors for One Guyana inter-region softball

REGAL Stationery and Computer Centre, of Seaforth Street, Campbellville, has agreed to sponsor the prize money and trophies for the Region Four leg of the inaugural One Guyana Inter-Region Ten10 Softball Cricket Tournament slated to take bowl off shortly.

At a simple ceremony on Friday, the sponsorship was handed over to a representative of Roraima Community Developers, organisers of the tournament.

Several regional coordinators have been identified, and they are presently working on putting systems in place as regards the venues, and teams’ registration among other administrative guidelines.

The tournament will be played in an open category, and is seen as a grassroot one, catering for bringing back softball to the village level, with each region having its own competition to crown its champion.

According to Roraima Community Developers, the teams competing regionally will be vying also for trophies and cash incentives, while the winning team in each region will battle against each other for the same, but, most importantly, for the national championship’s bragging rights.

The tournament will be played on ten-overs a-side, round-arm bowling, and based on a one-game knockout format.

For registration, teams can contact the regional coordinators, Region 1-Sherlon 668-3657, Region 2-Basil Persaud 610-0842, Region 3 – Mr. Kishan (WCD) 690-7782, Mr. Surijpaul (Wakenaan) 673-7748, Mr. Frank Satnarine (WBD) 615-5343, Region 4 – Mr. Fazal Khan 670-8114 and Mr. Darmin 668-2783, Region 5- Mr. Mahase on 626-1869 and Mr. Chris on 706-7073, Region 6 – Mr. Ryan Ramdass on 627-0704, Mr. Teka 667-4121 or Mr. Omesh Sirikishun on 677-2826.
