GUYANA Police Force Football Club defeated Den Amstel Football Club 3-0 to kick start their campaign in Season Six of the KFC Elite League on a winning note at the Guyana Football Federation’s National Training Facility at Providence.

Dorwin George (35th) gave the lawmen a 1-0 cushion at the end of half-time, after which national player Nicholas McArthur (64th) and Tyrone Delph (88th) sealed the dominant victory on Thursday evening.

Head Coach for the lawmen, Wayne Dover, was reported in a post-match comment, “I think the game started evenly balanced, and then we started to establish dominance through possession, though we were a bit impatient in the buildup and gave up possession.”

Matches continue today with the start of the second round as Western Tigers face Ann’s Grove from 18:00h, followed by GDF and Buxton from 20:30h at Providence.

The tournament winner will receive $2,000,000, while the second, third, and fourth-place finishers will receive $1,200,000, $800,000, and $500,000, respectively.
