BRITON John of We Stand United once again dominated the Beacon 40-Mile Road Race, the season opener for the Guyana Cycling Federation on Sunday.

Aaron Newton of Team Evolution and We Stand United’s Alexander Leung followed John in that order in the season-opening race, while Evolution’s Christopher Griffith, Segun Hubbard and Andre Green completed the top six.

Newton was the first juvenile, and Leung topped the junior category, followed by Sidney Sidwell and Daniel Jiang.

Hubbard took the title for the Under-50 category ahead of Robin Persaud and Alex Mendes, while Ian Jackson was the top over-50 competitor. Mark Spencer and Junior Niles finished second and third.

The Kaieteur Attack Racing Club organised the race that started at the Beacon Café on Carmichael Street and concluded at Sheriff Medical on Sheriff Street, Georgetown.
