IN its unwavering commitment to fostering harmony and good relations, the Ethnic Relations Commission (ERC) conducted a vital outreach exercise in the Moruca Sub District of Region One, Barima-Waini, on Monday, December 18, 2023.

The Paloma Benab in Kumaka served as the venue for this significant engagement, where the ERC team, led by Chairman Mr. Shaikh Moeenul Hack, engaged with the residents to enlighten them about the functions of the ERC and its dedicated efforts to fulfill its constitutional mandate.

During the outreach, the ERC team actively sought to understand the challenges faced by residents in various communities, including Santa Rosa, Manawarin, Rincon, Waramuri, Parakese, and others.

According to the ERC, the goal was to address concerns raised by residents, with a commitment from the ERC to investigate matters falling within its purview and facilitate referrals to other agencies or ministries for issues requiring intervention beyond its scope.

This collaborative effort received significant support from Toshaos and Community Support Officers (CSOs) in the villages and satellite communities, showcasing a united front in the pursuit of community well-being.
