DONALD Shariff called ‘Ducky’ has confessed to the 2020 brutal beating of fellow Angoy’s Avenue, New Amsterdam villager, Keron Nicholson.

Shariff, formerly of Patrick Dam, Angoy’s Avenue, appeared before Justice Sandil Kissoon at the Berbice High Court and opted to plead guilty to the lesser count of manslaughter.

The father of one is being represented by Attorney-at-Law Surihya Sabsook, while prosecutor Muntaz Ali is on record for the State.

He will be sentenced on November 9.

According to reports, Shariff and Nicholson knew each other and, on March 8, 2020, they were involved in a heated argument.

During the altercation, Shariff armed himself with a piece of wood and dealt Nicholson several lashes about his body.

The injured man was hurriedly taken to the New Amsterdam Hospital but was later transferred to Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation where he died a few days later.
