A 27-year-old, along with two others, is currently in custody after ranks from the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) raided his Herstelling, East Bank, Demerara and found $1.6 million worth of cannabis along with an unlicenced shotgun.

According to a CANU report, on Monday, drug enforcement officers conducted an operation at Block V Herstelling where Malik Forde lived.

A search of inside the house unearthed three parcels of suspected cannabis. A further search conducted on the outside of the house led to the discovery of a black 12-gauge shotgun.
Forde, along with two other suspects, were escorted to CANU Headquarters with the firearm and suspected narcotics.

The narcotic tested positive for cannabis, amounting to approximately 4.33 kg (about 9.5 lbs.), with a street value of approximately $1.6M. Investigations are ongoing.
