Why complain?

Dear Editor,
I was very amazed to see Deron Adams complaining about what’s happening with the television station in Linden.

I wouldn’t revisit too far back in history, but ask if the same wasn’t happening to the PPP/C when APNU+AFC was briefly in power. It’s sad to see a member of the party complaining and not the residents.

It has me wondering if the residents of Linden want to hear what the members of APNU have to say, but when I look at the pictures and videos circulating on social media and make a comparison, I realised that they would take anything and use it as an excuse for their failure.

Quite honestly, I didn’t read the letter completely because it was a waste of time because the writer seems to only notice things conveniently.

The writer probably didn’t know or consult with anyone before penning his letter, and for the sake of arguments, I’ll educate him regarding the television station in Linden and the failure of the APNU to rectify the situation when the party was briefly in power.

Editor, as I’ve repeatedly mentioned in letters before, after the five protestors were killed in Linden, the PPP/C government gave residents of Linden the opportunity to have their own TV station.

I was contacted to set up the control room for the TV station (which I did) and to train the staff to operate and transmit.

We transmitted a signal when APNU+AFC got into power, and for unknown reasons, there was bickering between the various stakeholders and the channel never got permission to go on air.
The plan was eventually abandoned and the transmitter was removed, and the investment for the equipment was wasted.

The incompetence and failure for the APNU to provide for the people of Linden comes back to haunt them and they shouldn’t complain.

And they shouldn’t go about crying, because they never expected the high and mighty world they were living in to come crashing down in such a short period.

Regards,
Sahadeo Bates
