Prem’s Electrical has picked up the 2023 title sponsorship of the Group Two class for this weekend’s Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club (GMR&SC) circuit race round one.
Shan Seejatan is the man to beat in this class and his form in local Group Two has been ominous at the South Dakota Circuit.
His longstanding battle with Chet Singh has often provided fans with nailbiting excitement and, this year, it is expected to resume as Singh was one of the first entries.
Mark Williams and Shairaz Roshandin are also two seasoned competitors in this group and are expected to push the front runners hard in their quest to score maximum points.
Roshandin, himself a former Group Two champion, has had success on the small circuit in the class and will be hoping to continue that success come Sunday.
Another ‘dark horse’ in this group is Rameez Mohamed. Mohamed has had success in the past and will surely be looking to ascend that podium come Sunday.
Dowalu Harper has also been progressing well in the group and will be hoping to continue his climb up the ladder to the top step of the podium.
Peter Morgan comes into this year staying true to the FORD brand, debuting his new Ford Fiesta in a group dominated by the Honda Civic.
He may be an old head in the group but he has a new machine under him and a drive to return to the podium.
Two new entrants in this class are Azad Hassan and Daniel Deokie.
Hassan is a current Sport Tuner competitor and makes the jump to Group Two for this year to try his hand while Deokie is a former Sports tuner champion.
Both will have their hands filled, especially given the fact that the one hand wonder, Kemal Rahman, is also in this group.
Rahman is the other anomaly in the group, his CRX going up against the Civics that have dominated this group.
A lot of tomorrow’s race results may depend on the Qualifying sessions which begin at 13:00hrs today.
