GCB clears the air on non-issuance of caps

THE Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) noticed in a Facebook post earlier today made by Cricnation592 that debutants did not receive caps prior to the start of the first round match of the West Indies Championship against Barbados Pride in Antigua.

It should be noted, there was a delay in the shipment of the uniforms and caps that were ordered for the tournament due to the unfortunate death of a close family member of the supplier and a subsequent delay in Miami. However, the GCB issued caps to all players (not the Baggy Green) prior to the team’s departure to Antigua.

Additionally, the customary handing-over ceremony will be held during the lunch break.

To suggest caps were not issued to the debutants is erroneous.
