THE Guyana Sugar Corporation (GuySuCo) this afternoon raised alarm at fake packets claiming to be “Genuine Demerara Gold sugar” which are being sold at some supermarkets.

In a post on its Facebook page, the sugar corporation said, “These FAKE packets are on the same shelf space as the Genuine Demerara Gold sugar, therefore persons need to be vigilant.”

“For Genuine Demerara Gold sugar purchases, persons must contact the Marketing Department on Tel: 220-2891-4 Ext 261 or email: marketing@guysuco.com.”

The sugar corporation also published images of the imitation packaging which bears close resemblance to the genuine packaging.
