THE opening night of the Guyana Squash Association’s (GCA) Senior National Championships got off to a less than auspicious start at Georgetown Club on Camp Street on Monday evening.

The final tournament for the year saw three walk-overs with only three of six scheduled encounters contested.

Watched by a handful of people on a cold and windy night, Samuel Ince-Carvalhal beat Regan Pollard 11-7, 11-6, 11-9 in the most competitive match of the evening.

The competition was scheduled to continue last night, tonight and to conclude on Friday night.
