DISTRICT 11 (North Georgetown) once again proved to be the dominant force in the pool by retaining their championship crown in dominant fashion at the 60th edition of the National Schools’ Cycling, Swimming, and Track and Field Championships.

The swimming segment wrapped up at the National Aquatic Centre on Tuesday, and District 11 amassed 418 points to beat District 10 (Upper Demerara/Kwakwani), who got 351 points.

Cuyuni Mazaruni (District 7) was in third with 215 points followed by East Georgetown (District 12) with 187 points.

The action now moves to the National Track and Field Centre at Leonora from today until Friday where District 10 will be aiming to retain their overall title by dominating the track and field events.

Details on the individual performances will be published in a subsequent report.
