CWSS, North Ruimveldt to clash for Milo football honours

LINDEN’s Christianburg/Wismar Secondary School (CWSS) and North Ruimveldt Multilateral School (NRMS) moved onto the finals of the Milo Schools Football tournament in contrasting fashion when the semi- finals took place on Sunday.

At the Ministry of Education ground, CWSS were unopposed as they ran a well-oiled machine to overcome Golden Grove 3-0

A brace from Kemar Mc Lauren (61st and 69th minutes) ensured that the unit were ahead in the second half while Jamal Peters’ 89th minute strike sealed the deal.

In the other semi-final, North Ruimveldt was made to work for their spot by tournament favourites, Dolphin Secondary School (DSS).

An own-goal in the 30th min. by Gerry Burnette gifted ‘North’ the lead before Cadwell Peters found the net two minutes later for Dolphin, levelling the score.

Nicholas Tappin put Dolphin in the lead for the first time in the game in the 36th who then looked like they were heading to the finals.

Tappin’s second goal in the 50th minute meant a 3-1 margin in favour of Dolphin and the deal looked almost sealed.

However, a fantastic turnaround performance from North Ruimveldt, thanks to Akeem Perreira (60th), Cassidy Carter (61st) and Orlando Dickie (70) saw NRMS take the lead, the score line ending 4-3

Sunday’s third-place play-off will be between Golden Grove and Dolphin at 16:00hrs, with the Final between Christianburg and North Ruimveldt set for 18:00.hrs
