RAINS may have cancelled Saturday’s quarter-final matches in the MILO Schools Football tournament but Sunday’s matches were hotly contested.
Golden Grove were the first to advance to the semis, courtesy of a 4-1 scoreline over Friendship.
A brace from Kelvin Richards (20th and 67th) along with single strikes from Tyric Trotman (25th) and Duwad Wilson (90th) were the scorers for the unit.
Jamal Cordis scored Friendship’s only goal
In the second match, it was all Dolphin schooling President’s College 5-0. The goal scorers were Caldwell Peters (15th and 84th minutes), Gerry Burnette (24th and 86th mins) and Samuel Grant (59th).
Meanwhile, matches continue on Wednesday with the second set of quarter-finals.
Cummings Lodge will play Christianburg/Wismar from 16:00hs with North Ruimveldt battling West Ruimveldt from 18:00hrs
