… set to take on Jamaica today

GUYANA have extended their winning run at the Cricket West Indies (CWI) Women’s Under-19 Rising Stars T20 Championship by defeating the Leeward Islands by 10 wickets at Brian Lara Cricket Academy on Wednesday.

The Guyanese were led by a brilliant all-round performance from Realeanna Grimmond, who took 2-9 then struck six fours in an unbeaten 33 off 29 balls.
Guyana dismissed Leeward Islands for 61 in 18.3 overs then raced to victory in 7.4 overs.

Niveena Ramnauth (3-3) and Cyanna Retemiah (3-14) were the other wreckers as extras top-scored with 26, while Jahzara Claxton made 18 and Kimberly Anthony 12.
Naomi Barkoye supported Grimmond with six not-out.
Guyana will now face Jamaica today from 14:30hrs at Brian Lara Cricket Academy in round three.
