THE University of Guyana (UG) and the Government Technical Institute (GTI) will meet in the championship clash of the Inaugural Tertiary Basketball League, which is billed for June 5 at Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
In the semi-finals of the event on Sunday, UG got past the New Amsterdam Technical Institute (NATI) by six points and GTI got the better of Linden Technical Institute (LTI) by a score of 77-71.

In the opening clash, it was MVP leader Shaquawn Gill, who led UG to victory.
He dominated the game with 27 points and 15 rebounds. Timothy Richmond also finished with a double-double, 15 points and 16 rebounds, while Thariq Duncan added 12 points.

NATI was led by Charles Williams and Kadeem Dover, who finished with 27 points and 20 points respectively.
In the second semi-finals, GTI maintained a perfect record by defeating rivals LTI by a score of 73-69.

Kobe Tappin was the lead scorer with 20 points, while Rakin McDonald added 16 points 12 rebounds and Royon Shortt 16 points.
For LTI, it was a two-man show. Shamar Savory finished with a game-high 23 points 20 rebounds and Damarcus Adams 22 points 7 rebounds.

NAIT and LTI are expected to battle in the third-place clash.
