THE Stabroek Market and its environs were, on Wednesday, sanitised and cleaned and all illegal structures were removed.
According to the Mayor and Councillors of the City (M&CC) of Georgetown, stallholders were not permitted to open, use or occupy the stalls and stands during the clean-up.

The areas of focus were the Stabroek Market, Stabroek Bazaar, Stelling View Mall, Section 10 (Donkey City), Stabroek Market Front, Water Street from Croal Street to the northern edge of Shumaker Street, among other areas.
