COVENT Garden Secondary School emerged victorious in the National Sports Commission/Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, East Bank Demerara (EBD) final of the 2022 Janet Jagan Memorial School Girls Windball Cricket competition.

In the championship clash against rivals, Diamond Secondary School, at the National Gymnasium, Covent Garden won the toss and elected to bowl.
In the middle, Diamond rallied to 104-2 from their five overs, Odessa France led the attack with a dominant 54. She belted eight sixes in her innings. Support came from Amelia Leal with 24. Shemica Lewis and Alzura Fernandes assisted with 14 runs each.
Covent Garden replied with an aggressive unbeaten opening partnership between Shamaya Da Costa and Latifa Dublin, who both struck 50 even runs to propel their school to 108-0.
Both young cricketers also made some big shots. Impressively, they each hit seven sixes and two fours.
Friendship Secondary School finished third in the division.
