Five colours on the edge of the Golden Arrowhead, we all pledge,
Not to wedge but to respect, always with full knowledge.
Each hedge strengthened to encourage not to quickly fledge,
Driven with a sledge, a kinship established on a strong ledge.

Without any misdemeanour, the flag of Guyana, all honour,
Whether in a manor, with true amor, even the minor.
No longer a sovereign governor, but yes, many a tenor,
None is a foreigner or stranger, but now, a willing donor.

A time for survival, to this country, all must be loyal,
Bright in a royal colour, let it show as clear as crystal.
From the General, more so, those sitting in the Capital,
Let the portrayal illuminates no sign of aligned betrayal.

Let not the rules be convenient, to the laws, be obedient,
Become resilient, allow not weakness to make you nescient.
Provide the ingredient to drive you productively efficient,
The salient point of preaching dignity, will not be sufficient.

The picture of the beauty of a dove, to each citizen, do truly love,
Held with peace in a glove, a permanent fixture, be it truelove.
Flying high above, make it a bounding duty to appreciatively belove,
Now behoove the responsibility of fellowship, kindle the fire to over-love.

Stop not to hesitate, but this bursting energy, do dedicate,
To liberate the people, and, make this state, again great.
Create a meaningful life style, which will indicate and narrate,
A story to associate with progress, and, any dictator, to eradicate.

A year of perfect timeliness constructed to promote a basket of happiness,
Not cornered in loneliness, the day dawns to expand the horizon of business.
Willing and able in readiness, showered in the comfort of contentedness,
Disguised not in craftiness, breathe now the fresh and free air of cleanliness.

For posterity, people’s priority solicits the growth to parlay with prosperity,
In solidarity with progress and sincerity, a country frees herself from charity.
A party enjoying its popularity with the majority, adds clarity and authority,
To enhance compatibility without ambiguity, being civic with accountability.
