… No play between Everest and DCC

THE Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) would be hoping for a full day’s play today as they have the Guyana Police Force (GPF) on the ropes after the first day of their First-Division Two-Day semi-final at Bourda.

GPF reached stumps 90-7 on a rain-hit day when only 24 overs were possible.

National player Ronaldo Alimohamed has so far taken 3-23 in an aggressive spell of medium-pace bowling while left-arm spinner Devon Lord (2-6) and Stefon Wilson (2-28) are also among the wickets.

Pernell London (20) and skipper Kevon Boodie (18) offered early fight but GPF would still feel they can get a competitive total as the powerful Quintin Sampson is unbeaten on 24 (2×4; 2×6) along with Kelvin Leitch who is yet to score.

At the Everest Cricket Club (ECC), no play was possible between the hosts and the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) because of a wet patch on the pitch.
