Appeal Court reduces imprisonment of ‘Granny’ killers from 81 years to 50 years

THREE men who were sentenced in 2015 to 81-years imprisonment for the gruesome murder of 72-year-old, Clementine Fiedtkou-Parris, had their sentence reduced, earlier today, to 50 years by Guyana’s Appeal Court.

Orwin Hinds, Kevin October, Cleon Hinds, and Roy Jacobs were convicted for the murder by Justice Navindra Singh at the Demerara High Court in 2015.

Tuesday’s appeal was heard before a tribunal of appeal justices including Chancellor (ag), Yonette Cummings-Edwards, Justice Dawn Gregory, and Justice Rishi Persaud.
