THE Lusignan Golf Club (LGC) will be hosting a better-ball alternative tournament today.

According to information from the club, up to yesterday afternoon, some 30 golfers had registered for the 18-hole medal play event, including the 2021 Guyana Open champion Shanella London.
Players without a partner can seek assistance from LGC manager.

In keeping with the COVID-19 regulations, the golfers will take part in a shotgun start (starting at different holes at the same time).

Prizes will be awarded to the first-, second- and third-place best net finishers. Additionally, there will also be the longest drive competition on hole No. 5 and the nearest to the pin battle on hole N0. 4.

According to information from the club, handicap for each pair will be calculated on 60% of the lower partner plus 40% of the higher partner.

PROCEDURE OF PLAY
In a partnership comprising players A and B, both players will tee-off, they will then choose which ball is in a better position and continue to alternate until the hole is completed.

Players are advised on arrival to contact the manager to uplift their scorecard etc. and proceed to their allocated tee boxes and listen for the blast of the horn to commence the game at 12:30hrs.
