SOCIAL media came alive on Wednesday with praise for the government following the injection of $552.9 billion into the economy through various initiatives that would rapidly transform and modernise the nation.

Many of the comments were high in commendation of President Irfaan Ali and his Cabinet for being responsive to the plight of citizens.

Some of the comments include:
“Thank you for remembering dialysis patients. The cost is a huge burden on families,” Abigail Young said.

“More development coming to Linden, thanks to this government,” said Brian Mcrae on Facebook.

“This is great news for the small-business owners to get a real help,” contended Rita Bhagmattie,” while Abrams Leon gushed, “Great news, providing improved health care services.”

“Way to go, let’s challenge the Guyana Police Force and Guyana Fire Service personnel to utilise this funding effectively, productively and professionally to protect and serve all citizens,” Dhanwatie Lautan urged.

Pratima Persaud was also high in praise: “All of Guyana should be proud because our people will now start seeing what a transformational country looks like.”

For Satie Ramjuss, it was “An excellent budget for intelligent minds.”

Budget 2022, according Senior Minister in the Office of the President with responsibility for Finance, Dr Ashni Singh, also lays the foundation for creation of thousands of jobs and caters for the training of Guyanese to take up those jobs.

Additionally, sums allocated in the budget also cater for massive investment in infrastructure that will change the face of Guyana forever, by opening vast new tracts of land for productive purposes, establishing entirely new communities while connecting others, and making thousands of Guyanese, homeowners for the very first time.
