TODAY will mark the start of the Guyana Harpy Eagles’ practice match in preparation for next month’s Regional Four-Day Championship, and players will be eyeing solid performances to stake a claim for selection.
Former Guyana Cricket Board Senior Chairman of Selectors, Ramnaresh Sarwan, had stated that players who produce standout performances would be under consideration for selection as the Guyanese franchise looks to regain its hold on the title.
In the two matches at Albion between Leon Johnson’s XI and Keemo Paul’s XI, there were several notable performances.
Shimron Hetmyer made 149, wicketkeeper/batter Tevin Imlach scored 106, Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Trevon Griffith and Kemol Savory scored fifties, Antony Adams took five-wicket haul and Junior Sinclair took an 11-wicket match-haul.
According to a release from the GCB yesterday, the Best v Best match commences today at Guyana National Stadium, Providence and the scheduled time is 09:30hrs – 16:30hrs.
