Ramdhani siblings to meet in Trophy Stall Mixed Doubles final

… Narayan, Priyanna also advance to Men’s and Women’s Doubles finals

SIBLINGS Narayan and Priyanna Ramdhani will face off in the Mixed Doubles final, while they will also contest the finals of the Men’s Doubles and the Women’s Doubles respectively, when the curtain comes down on the Trophy Stall Badminton Christmas tournament this evening at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.

In the Mixed Doubles semi-finals on Wednesday evening, Priyanna and fellow national player Akili Haynes defeated Jonathan Mangra and Shivannie Persaud 21-12, 21-5, while Narayan and Mishka Beharry got the better of Marlon Chung and Ambika Ramraj 21-10, 21-15.

Haynes and Priyanna had defeated Easa Sanichara and Priyanka Shivnauth 21-13, 21-9 in their quarter-final clash.

In the third-place battle, Mangra and Persaud defeated Chung and Ramraj 16-21, 21-16, 21-11.

MEN’S DOUBLES
Priyanna who also contested the Men’s Doubles, with Marlon Chung, fell in the semis to Haynes and Tyrese Jeffrey 21-14, 21-14.

Narayan and Jonathan Mangra got past Easa Sanichara and Matthew Beharry 21-15, 21-7 in the other semi-final clash.

In the third-place clash, Chung and Priyanna defeated Sanichara and Beharry 21-16, 21-12.

WOMEN’S DOUBLES
Priyanna and her teammate Shivannie Persaud advanced to the final after defeating Priyanka Shivnauth and Mishka Beharry 21-6, 21-14, while Christina Kumar and Anna Perreira got the better of Ayanna Watson and Emilia Ramdhani 21-12, 21-18.

In the third-place battle, Watson and Emilia (the mother of Narayan and Priyanna) came from behind in a tense encounter to beat Shivnauth and Mishka Beharry 17-21, 22-20, 21-18.
