TWO persons are now in police custody following an operation at a house in West Ruimveldt Housing Scheme, Georgetown, on Tuesday.

According to a police report, officers from the Guyana Police Force (GPF) Headquarters and ‘A’ Division conducted an intelligence-led operation at 18:00 hrs at Lot 122 West Ruimveldt Housing scheme, which led to the arrest of two males, a vendor of the said address and a taxi driver of Lot 1,705 Dedication Place, South Ruimveldt.

Following a search of the premises, police uncovered nine bulky parcels, one small parcel and 114 packets of suspected marijuana. The alleged narcotics was weighed in the presence of the suspects, and it amounted to 13.40 lbs.

The items were lodged and the suspects were placed in custody at the East La Penitence Police Station pending charges.
