Education Ministry investigating incident at city school

THE Ministry of Education has issued a statement noting that it is investigating a number of incidents involving students of one of its “top secondary schools” in Georgetown, and has reminded that it is illegal to share any of the contents related to those incidents which are emanating from the school.

While not explicitly naming the incidents or school, the ministry said: “These occurrences are being investigated and treated with the utmost seriousness as it relates to the management of students’ care, well-being and supervision.”

The Education Ministry added: “Given the sensitivity of these issues relative to the long-term implication it may have for young teenagers who wittingly or unwittingly were engaging in acts, the ministry wishes to remind members of the citizenry that it is against the law to share material or use a device in a way that may have disparaging effects for someone.”
