New UDFA president to be elected today

ACTING president of the Upper Demerara Football Association (UDFA), Claude Williams, yesterday afternoon confirmed that the long-awaited Annual General Meeting and Elections will be held today from 14:00hrs at the Watooka Club.

This quashed speculation that the very important meeting may not have been held as scheduled.
Chronicle Sport has been reliably informed that there will be a new president since the incumbent, Terrence Mitchell, has migrated and will not be seeking re-election.

Two names of persons interested in becoming the new boss of the UDFA have been placed in the public domain as contesting the presidency.
They are Deputy Mayor of Linden Wainwright Bethune and vice-president of Milerock FC, Victor Wright.
