ANDRE Collison called DJ Chappy, 38, of Bartica, Region Seven, was killed around 01:30 hours on Friday morning at Puruni Landing, Middle Mazaruni, police said.

Police Headquarters said that about 01:00 hour, the victim left his room in search of food and went to the “Two Blessed Sisters Restaurant” and made an order and while waiting to collect the order, the suspect went into the establishment and an argument later ensued about monies owed.

The argument became heated and the suspect drew a knife from his pants waist and stabbed the victim to his abdomen and thereafter made good his escape.

He was picked up by public-spirited citizens and taken to the Puruni Health post where he succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment.
He was later pronounced dead by a doctor on duty and was escorted to the Bartica Regional Hospital Mortuary for storage. Police said the suspect is currently on the run.
