THE National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Alliance For Change (AFC) on Sunday unanimously agreed to defer its National Conference until a date after March 2022, claiming that COVID-19 was the reason for its decision.
According to a release, the party is hoping that by then, Guyana would have a better control of COVID-19.
The AFC also said that the NEC was updated on attempts to resolve outstanding issues regarding the Cummingsburg Accord and appointed a select team to make recommendations to the executive regarding the best positioning of the party in the evolving political atmosphere.
The brief statement from the AFC concluded by noting that the party renewed its call for members of the public to be vaccinated and to always observe the COVID-19 guidelines.
