THE body of a woman was found in the washroom of the female ward at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC), on Thursday.
According to a press statement from GPHC, the body was discovered at around 11:05 hours by one of the employees of the hospital.

The Guyana Police Force (GPF) and the family of the patient were immediately notified of the discovery by members of GPHC’s management team.

A team from the hospital has been identified to support the family of the patient and provide all the necessary information to assist the GPF in their investigations.

In expressing condolences to the patient’s relatives, the hospital also committed to take every action to prevent this type of event from occurring again.
